Ritchie Kiley who won our Uncrowned champion award last December, Sean Monaghan the light heavyweight contender, and his trainer Joe Higgins will be the Ring 8 guest speakers at its next monthly meeting on Thursday night, September 20th (7 p.m. ET start), at Plattdeutsch Park Restaurant (1132 Hempstead Turnpike) in Franklin Square, New York.

Guest Speakers Next Tuesday, June 19th will be Heavyweight Contender Jarrell Big Baby Miller and Matchmaker Eric Bottjer at O’Neill’s

Our next meeting will be on Tuesday, June 19th at O’Neill’s Restaurant located at 64-21 53rd Drive in Maspeth, New York starting at 7 PM

Jarrell Big Baby Miller is one of the most exciting heavy weight boxers in the United States with a splitting resemblance to Mike Tyson and the charisma to go along with it. Miller also comes from the rich history of Bed Stuy, Brooklyn.

With only two fights under his belt, he was a New York Golden Gloves finalist and has worked as chief sparring partner for both Wladimir and Vitali Klitschko. In 2015 he made his Showbox debut scoring a third round knockout against Uzbekistan number one heavyweight, Akaror Muralimov. Making his Showbox debut a success, Showbox immediately wanted to put Jarrell under the next Showbox card of 2016, where he was put up against another heavyweight prospect Donovan Dennis. With a NABA heavyweight title on the line Jarrell dropped Dennis in the first round with ferocious right hand. But Dennis stood on his feet until the 7th round, where he was stopped by a velocity of combos which caused the referee to call the fight due to Dennis being out cold on his feet.

He continued his winning streak by stopping Nick Gulvas, Fred Kassi, Gerald Washington and Mariusz Wach and then won a onesided decision over Johann Duhaupas.

Miller is currently ranked #3 in the Heavyweight Division by the WBA.

Eric Bottjer, World Class matchmaker. He worked for Don King Productions, Cedric Kushner, Dan Goossen’s Promotion and DRL Promotions. He is one of the top and most respected matchmakers in the business.

Ring 8 Pictures & Notes of Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at O’Neill’s Restaurant

Once again we had some Great guest speakers.

Mark Breland, who many people consider the Greatest American Amateur Boxer ever finishing his Amateur career with a record of 110-1. Mark won five consecutive New York Daily News Golden Gloves titles, in 23 bouts in the New York Daily News Golden Gloves, Mark was 23-0 with 22 knockouts, 15 in the first round, and then finished his Amateur career winning a GOLD MEDAL in the 1984 Olympic Games. As a pro, Mark went on to win the World Boxing Association World welterweight title twice. and is currently the trainer of WBC Heavyweight Champion, Deontay Wilder.

Brian Adams who won 2 New York Golden Glove Championships, and has a 17-4-1 record as a Pro. He also run the New York Golden Gloves for many years and if one of the top commentators in boxing.

Andre Rozier, who is considered one of the top Boxing trainers in the business. He brought up a young prospect and Lightweight contender, Richard Commey.

Henry “Henny” Wallitsch the former Ring 8 President who fought as a Heavyweight from 1957 to 1966. He fought some of the largest Heavyweights of his era, including future WBA Heavyweight Champion 6’6″ Ernie Terrell, 6′ 9½″ James J. Beattie (twice), and the 1960 Olympic Heavyweight Gold Medal winner 6’2″ Franco de Piccoli. His biggest win was over Sweden undefeated Champion Lennart Risberg at the Polo Grounds on the under card of the 2nd Floyd Patterson/Ingemar Johansson fight. Henny was also a sparring partner for Both Patterson, Johansson, Jerry Quarry as well as Charlie Norkus Sr.
