An emergency executive board meeting of the Veteran Boxers Association, Ring 8, was held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:30 PM on Tuesday, August 19, 2008. 2008, at the Waterfront Crab House in Long Island City, New York. The following board members were in attendance: Henry Wallitsch, Lenny Mangiapane, Bob Duffy, Robert Mladinich, Jack Hirsch, Henry Hascup, Johnny Breitenbruck, Tommy Gallagher, Paulette Balog, Keith Sullivan, Dawn Avila and Tony DiPippo.

The following items were discussed:

1. Plans for the 2008 Christmas party, including where and when it will be held and who would oversee it. Potential honorees were discussed for the following categories:

Doctor or public servant
Prospect of the year
Local champion of the year
Old timer
Media person
Uncrowned champion
Manager, promoter, trainer of the year

2. Also discussed was a change in bylaws, to enable a greater amount of people to be eligible for executive positions.

3. It was agreed upon by executive board to continue to pay an ailing former heavyweight who $100 per month to offset his expenses.

4. A second emergency meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, August 26, 2008, to follow-up on these issues.
