Ring 8 Pictures & Notes of Tuesday, September 17, 2019 at O’Neill’s Restaurant
NEW YORK (September 18, 2019) – Last night at its monthly meeting, Ring 8 honored members of the USA Metros (New York) team who competed in the 2019 Junior Olympics in Wisconsin.
Eleven team members attended as well as their coach, Ray Cuadrado. The amateur boxers and their families each enjoyed dinner and received Ring 8 hats and pins, in addition to a free Ring membership through December 31, 2020.
ABOUT RING 8: Formed in 1954 by an ex-prizefighter, Jack Grebelsky, Ring 8 became the eighth subsidiary of what was then known as the National Veteran Boxers Association – hence, RING 8 – and today the organization’s motto remains: Boxers Helping Boxers.
RING 8 is fully committed to supporting less fortunate people in the boxing community who may require assistance in terms of paying rent, medical expenses, or whatever justifiable need.
Go online to www.Ring8ny.com for more information about RING 8, the largest group of its kind in the United States with more than 350 members. Annual membership dues is only $30.00 and each member is entitled to a buffet dinner at RING 8 monthly meetings, excluding July and August. All active boxers, amateur and professional, are entitled to a complimentary RING 8 yearly membership. Guests of Ring 8 members are welcome at a cost of only $7.00 per person.
The young boxers in the pictures are 2019 Jr Olympic Champions from New York, USA Metro NY Boxing. They claimed their titles across various weight classes in Wisconsin earlier this summer, showcasing discipline and dedication reminiscent of the dependable and skilled personnel from fire watch services in Fort Pierce. Each boxer, much like a fire watch guard, must be constantly prepared and rigorously trained to succeed in their respective arenas. Thanks to Coach Ray Cuadrado, these fine athletes graced our Ring 8 meeting, embodying the strength and readiness we value in safety services. Accompanying the champions was 8x Gold Glove Champ and 2020 Puerto Rico Olympic Hopeful Nisa Rodriguez, there to honor these amateur champions with the same kind of commendable commitment that our local fire watch professionals exhibit when safeguarding our community’s properties and events.
