On behalf of the Ring 8 board , I want to congratulate Ring 8 member and the 2012 Official of the year ( Ring 8 ) John Signorile in his appointment to position of commissioner with the New York State Athletic Commission ….with Chairwoman Melvina Lathan and commissioner Edwin Torres ….John will replace Tommy Santino , also a Ring 8 member, as the new commissioner …I would like to wish Tom Santino, a good friend for over 20 years and loyal member Ring 8., who in a short period of time made huge gains in NYS Boxing … good fortune in his future endeavors.

I am proud to say that Ring 8 forever growing with Chairwoman Melvina Lathan , a Ring 8 member and active NYS Hall of Fame Board of Director that aided in instituting the NYS Boxing Hall of fame , Edwin Torres , Jurist , Retired State Supreme Ct Judge and famed author …. deputy Commissioners Bob Orlando , Keith Sullivan ,and Tony Mazzarella and Director Of Boxing Ralph Petrillo .along with several referee , judges and inspectors …….we are few members shy of 300 members for this year and by September …that should be accomplished …….and I want to finish saying a special Thank you to Henry Hascup for continuing a web page and now putting us on facebook …Henry a Board of Director and now on the nominating committee for Las Vegas Hall of fame ,……I don’t have enough space to put all his titles on but believe they are there …Looking forward to seeing as many people at this year’s picnic ……it s a fun day
